The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute is advancing groundbreaking Alzheimer’s disease research with a gift from the family of a dedicated WVU alumnus…The gift was made through the WVU Foundation, the nonprofit organization that receives and administers private donations on behalf of the University and its affiliated entities and has a RNI emphasis, which researchers used focused ultrasound technology to deliver drugs where they are needed most to effectively slow and reverse the effects of Alzheimer’s disease.

$10K grant will create Muddy Boots Academy

ELKINS — A $10,000 grant will assist in the creation of a new outdoor learning program, to be known as the Muddy Boots Academy. Highland Adventist School has received the $10,000 grant from the Versacare Foundation. The Muddy Boots Academy will serve students from prekindergarten to first grade, with an accredited school program that will prioritize learning in an outdoor setting, officials said. ‘We are excited to bring outdoor learning to Elkins,” Cheryl Jacko, principal of Highland Adventist School, said.
